Credibility & Company Story
How Credibility Capital Started
Credibility Capital was founded in 2013 and has been driven by the ability to help small businesses grow and succeed. The company values transparency and fairness, which is why their team is extremely devoted to providing the highest quality service and customer experience.
Credibility Capital was co-founded by Brett Baris and Mark Rambler who now both take the positions of chief executive and operating officers in the company. Brett Baris holds a B.A. degree in Economics and has always had his focus on financial technology space. Brett has been a venture capital investor for 17 years. His partner, Mark Rambler, graduated from Princeton University and has years of experience working as a vice president at other funding companies.
Credibility Capital currently employs under 50 people and with its headquarters situated in New York.
Leading Private Investors in Credibility Capital
As many of the SME small business loan companies, Credibility Capital is a private, for-profit company that isn’t shy of funding. Three of the main investors behind Credibility Capital are Advantage Capital, IA Capital Group, and Bryant Stibel.
Their last funding round was a Series A3, which raised $2.5m.
In Detail: What Credibility Capital Does
Credibility Capital, unlike many of its competitors, has bank-funded loans. At first, this isn’t what you want to hear, because it means eligibility criteria may be high. Whilst this is somewhat true, you’re still more likely to be approved here than at a bank.
Credibility Capital does require a “good” credit score, no bankruptcies within the last 5 years, 24 months in business and to be generating revenue.
The loan product itself is between $25,000 and $350,000. Loans range between 1 and 3 years, fully amortizing with monthly repayments. Interest rates are relatively low for this industry, but they’re higher than banks (they start at 8%). The low APRs in comparison to competitors is because they are bank fund loans
No yield maintenance or prepayment fee, meaning you can pay off at any time. Whilst there is an origination fee, there isn’t an application fee.
Credibility Capital doesn’t really offer any other products. The loan above can be funded within 24 hours, which is much faster than with a bank. Loans are secured by a blanket UCC (Uniform Commercial Code), but no liens on specific collateral are taken out, such as your property.
The sort of documentation expected to provide depends on the industry. It’ll be along the lines of 6 months of bank statements and tax returns.
Credibility Capital Business Loans Client Reviews

“Gaston Gonzalez was extremely professional and courteous. He was available on weekends by email if we had any questions. The company is very organized. I would recommend them to anyone.”
“My Rep was Carl.. He was absolutely awesome. Took the time to get to know my business and what my needs were. Then Made it work. I had a very difficult and complex situation, but he figured out the right program, and I could not be happier!”
“They got us financed in a very tenuous economic environment. Appreciate their confidence!”
Analysis of Client Reviews:
Although 170 reviews are not that much compared to a lot of Credibility Capital’s competitors with thousands of reviews, it is enough to say that the company is credible. With 98% of total feedback being positive, it seems that the company has very professional and helpful team members as well as provides transparent and quick service.
Credibility Capital Website Review
Credibility Capital is not a great website. First impressions (image above) tells us absolutely nothing. Users don’t want a Call To Action button, they want some information before they start clicking around. When scrolling down, the website seems more concerned with bombarding the user with customer testimonials, reviews, and their list of partners than they are about detailing their products. To be precise, the front page spends only 84 out of the 850 words detailing their product — that’s 10%.
Fortunately, their minimally visible menu button saves the day and has some useful links to their products, FAQ, about us, and Covid-19 related help. The most impressive thing about the website is how up to date it is, with current news and market behavior. Overall, the website is average for the company’s otherwise high standards, with a poor home page, but with some very relevant information once you search around.
Credibility Capital Loan Compatibility
StartUp: Not suitable, as it requires businesses to have traded for at least 2 years
Bad Credit: Not suitable with a requirement for a strong personal credit
Sole Trader: Accepted
Established Business: The maximum amount of loan is $350,000, which is very limiting and therefore not suitable
Credibility Capital Short Review
Credibility Capital is a very ordinary lending platform. Loans aren’t particularly versatile, but they still suit the needs of many. The requirements are somewhat middle of the road, whilst the interest and term are too. However, customer reviews are very positive for the company, so their customer service, as well as fulfilling the service, is very strong.
