A national-bank benchmark with unusually specific published starting criteria for its unsecured products.
Bank of America at a glance
Bank of America offers fixed-payment term loans and revolving credit alongside secured and SBA routes. Its published unsecured criteria make it useful for comparing a strong bank file against faster online alternatives. The advertised maximum is not a promise of approval. A final offer can be smaller and can use a different payment structure after the provider reviews revenue, credit, industry, state and recent bank activity.

What the financing actually looks like
National bank making conventional and SBA business credit under Bank of America agreements.
The bank publishes a fixed starting rate for its unsecured term loan and prime-based pricing for its revolving products. The applicant's credit, amount and banking relationship set the final rate.
The unsecured term loan uses fixed monthly payments over 12 to 60 months. Credit lines revolve with monthly payments and annual renewal.
Unsecured product names do not rule out owner guarantees or setoff rights. Secured lines can use a blanket lien on business assets or a certificate of deposit.
Products are offered nationally subject to bank underwriting, account requirements and channel limits.
Published unsecured guidance calls for two years under current ownership, at least $100,000 annual revenue and owner FICO typically above 700.
The unsecured term loan is a clean comparison point
The published route starts at $10,000, uses fixed payments and runs from 12 to 60 months. That makes it easier to compare with online installment debt. Add the origination fee to the cash-flow schedule and confirm whether the quoted rate is simple interest or an APR after all required charges.
A credit line is an annual relationship
The unsecured and secured lines revolve rather than amortize once. Interest begins after a draw, but the commitment is reviewed for renewal. A business depending on the facility every season should ask what can cause a reduction, nonrenewal or demand, and should not treat the limit as permanent capital.
Relationship pricing has a second cost
Deposit balances can produce a rate discount, yet moving operating cash to earn that discount can change treasury risk and account fees. Compare the discounted loan with the value and restrictions of the required banking relationship, then keep emergency liquidity outside any right of setoff when counsel advises it.
Who should keep it on the shortlist?
An established, profitable company with strong owner credit that can document a planned purchase or recurring working-capital need.
A new firm, a weaker-credit file or an owner who needs a same-day answer without financial documentation. That second group should compare a bank, credit union or government-backed route before paying for a shorter online process.
Our view
Bank of America is a strong bank benchmark because its public pages reveal both entry criteria and contract shape. The borrower should still compare the actual fixed rate, $150 term-loan fee, guarantee and line renewal language. No published threshold can predict an individual approval, and no company maximum should set the size of the request.
How to read the offer
Ask for the cash delivered after withheld fees, total dollars repaid, number of payments and payment frequency. Then read the personal guarantee, UCC filing, collateral, default and early-payment sections. If the offer uses a factor, calculate an estimated annualized cost for comparison without pretending that estimate changes the contract into a loan.
Model the payment against the weakest recent revenue month. Leave payroll, sales tax, suppliers and existing debt in the bank forecast. A fast approval can still be the wrong product when automatic withdrawals create another gap before the financed project returns cash.
